Bed Rest: Day 38

It's been awhile since I've written a bed rest update. The reason for that is that there hasn't been much to report. Things are going smoothly and I am feeling good. A bit large, but good. It's to the point where I have a lot of trouble moving...flipping over, sitting up, walking. At night it feels like my legs are hanging onto my body by a tiny thread and could fall off any minute. Needless to say, it's a strange sensation. But all of these things come along with pregnancy, I'm just experiencing them a little earlier than most.

Taking pictures of Charlie and Liv isn't easy when I'm not around them all day...and I can't chase after them! So I have to rely on the pictures others take. Above a few pics from May. They are having fun, and you can see some of Olivia's "faces" in these. Too funny!

Meanwhile, I've become addicted to Pinterest. So that has been taking up a lot of my time. Finding and collecting ideas for crafts, food, parties, and organization. The last being my favorite. I'm a bit of an organizational freak, so sitting here in bed and not being able to do any actual organizing is a real struggle. I can't wait to put all of these great tips into practice once I'm up and about. Eli told me that I will have to get used to things being disorganized and a bit chaotic once the triplets arrive. "There's not really anything we can do about it," he said. My response? "Watch me."

I have to give Eli, Debbie (my MIL), my Mom and the sisters at church another shout out for all of the things they are doing around here. Poor Eli works at Chase all day, only to come home and jump right in with the kids' bedtime routine, and then spend most of the night cleaning up and doing things around the house. On the weekends he is a true "Mr. Mom." Grocery shopping, taking the kids for a much needed outing, buying them lunch (which has become a Saturday tradition for them), and generally taking care of other household chores. Thankfully, this is where my Mom comes in. She comes over around noon every Saturday while Eli is out with the kids and picks up the house and puts things back in order. Things can really get flipped upside down in a week! Luckily, Mom is a great right-side-upper. :) Wonder where I got that organizational thing from. Hmmmm. She also watches the kids so Eli can do things like mow the lawn, take care of things that require leaving the house, and sometimes have a little time for himself. Thank you Mom! We all need that time.

During the week, Debbie is the glue that keeps this family running right now. She is so lovely and wonderful about making sure that I'm still the main Mama, even though I can only parent from the bed or the couch. She makes sure to bring Charlie and Liv in to visit me throughout the day, and I can tell that they are just loving being with her. MooMoo has been in and out during the first two years of their lives as she lives in California (though much more in than one might suspect), so this is a precious time for them to really bond and get to know each other.

And last but not least, the sisters from church have been bringing so many meals, and they have offered to take Charlie and Liv for a bit each week to give them a play date and give Debbie some time to study...for her PhD. Seriously, someone needs to brag about that!

That is pretty much how things have been going around here. The babies are almost always having a dance party in there, and they seem to be doing well. Next Dr. appointment is on Wednesday, so keep praying that things are safe and looking good!
