Changes and Temples

Eric (Eli's brother) and his wife Holly have lived with us for the past four months. They moved out this past Saturday. Thankfully, their new apartment is only about two minutes from our house. We are glad to have them so close by. Charlie and Liv have gotten to know their Aunt and Uncle well these past few months, and it has been so neat to watch those relationships grow. When they moved out on Saturday, I talked with them about how Uncle Bubby and Aunt Holly would be leaving our house. On Sunday, Livy spent a lot of the day saying, "Bubby? Bye-Bye?" Holly, if she could say your name, you know she'd have been asking about you too!

In our guestroom, which was Eric and Holly's room while they were here, there is a picture frame on the wall that holds two pictures of the Columbus, Ohio Temple which is where Eli and I were married and sealed. I took the photos one evening when the sky was bright pink and blue. The temple looked so beautiful against the sky that I had Eli pull the car over and we got out for a photo shoot. The shots were so great that when I had them developed, the girl who did it made an extra set with the color enhanced because she thought they were so beautiful. I have had them framed since that time. We also have a HUGE photo of the same temple by our front door so that we can see it whenever we leave the house. So here is this huge picture of the temple that has always been there, and the kids have never showed the slightest interest. On Sunday, I let the explore the guestroom because it had been off limits for so long. We all jumped on the bed and had a ball. Then Livy noticed the picture of temple that I had taken and hung above the bed.

"Wha's dis?" she asked.

"The temple," I said.

And that was that. Until about five minutes later. Charlie stopped what he was doing, pointed to the pictures and said, "Tem...ple." Clear as day. "Tem...ple," he said over and over again.

Yes, Charlie, "Temple."

That's too cute, Abby.

And I'm sure Holly would say, "that's soooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!", and wave her hands and stomp her feet. :)
