Our First Family Outing

We are an ambitious family. No couch potatoes here! Today we made our first outing as a family of four. Eli and I decided to take the kids to the mall. Polaris Mall to be exact. We had lunch and walked around for a few hours and left without purchasing a single thing, but we had fun. Everything went off without a hitch, except for an unfortunate incident in the Family Restroom (we can use that now!) Charlie decided this was the prime time to...projectile poop all over the changing table...then spit up all over his shirt...then pee all over his undershirt. It was exciting there for a few minutes, let me tell you. But we got everything under control, and changed him into clean clothes. And then it was Olivia's turn. She played it safe by only spitting up on her shirt. So we changed her and we were on our way.

They were a hit with all mall shoppers. Most people would walk by without a word, but they would smile politely at us or say softly to their co-shoppers, "look how cute?!" The moms we encountered in the baby clothing store always stopped too "ooo" and "ahhh" over our little bundles of joy. "How old are they? Oh! They are just precious!" they would say. And children were interested too. "They are soooo small mommy! Look how small!"

Thankfully, no one tried to touch them, though one woman got awfully close. Eli's gaurd was up the whole time, ready to pounce on anyone who might put their germy hands on our little ones. But they were safe. They are safe. And we had a great first outing. Now we're all worn out and ready for bed. Night!

hahahha!! I can just imagine the fiasco of Charlie's untimely accident. It's amazing how quick you forget stuff like that. And, just when I want another one! You may keep me a mommy of two for a while longer with stories like that! :) LOVE!

i am so amazed and proud at how you guys are jumping into this whole parenthood thing with such calmness, eagerness, and matter-of-fact attitudes. i admire that very much.

i was a little more freaked out than you guys seem to be!
