The Past Three Weeks

The past three weeks have been trying for our family. Today is the first day in those three weeks when EVERYONE has been healthy. It started with Charlie. He came down with a fever, a horrible cough, and other cold symptoms. He then gave that to Liv, who gave it to Luke, who gave it to Jack, who gave it to Wendy. And while the babies were still recovering, Liv came home from the babysitter's on Monday and threw up all over herself and their car. Then yesterday it was my turn.

I hesitate to even say this, for fear that I might jinx things, but we might finally be over this. I sure hope so. I like our little house, but I can't stand being here for one more moment! I haven't been to church for the past three Sundays, and while I'm feeling the spiritual drain there, I am also feeling the physical drain of all these sleepless nights. And sadly, we now have a completely messed up schedule for the babies, who think that waking up between 5:30 and 6:30 for their first feeding, and then screaming and waking up the twins is acceptable. They also think that it is no longer necessary to take their naps at the same time. Even when I put them down together things don't go smoothly. We never really had any sleeping problems with Charlie and Liv, so this is wearing on me a bit.

But I am hopeful. Maybe now that this is over we can get back to normal. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to release the breath I've been holding...
