Pumpkins, Witches and Candy

While I was still in the hospital, I asked Charlie and Liv what they wanted to be for Halloween. (I figured I would need a head start on costumes this year!) This is the first year that I have given them the opportunity to choose their costumes for themselves. And to be honest, I wasn't entirely sure they would understand what I was asking. So imagine my surprise when Charlie immediately said, "A pumpkin!" And Livy said, "A dress!" Well...I was fairly sure I could make that happen, and because Liv didn't really care what kind of dress she wore, I decided to go for the witch costume to complement Charlie's pumpkin costume. They were so excited about their costumes and about Trick-or-Treating that they've been pretending to trick-or-treat since I got home from the hospital! Once their costumes arrived, they wanted to wear them almost every day. And they did make a cute little witch and pumpkin if I do say so myself. :)

The triplets didn't have costumes per se, but we did inherit a few little Halloween items that they wore.

The Friday before Halloween, our church ward had its Halloween party and Trunk-or-Treat. We went last year, but the the kids were a little too young. This time they enjoyed the games, food and friends. After much anticipation for Trunk-or-Treat, Charlie decided he didn't want to go, so he sat in the car while I passed out candy. By that time he was tired, and my little guy needs some quiet time every now and then. Then on Halloween, we carved the pumpkin and Charlie and Liv went Trick-or-Treating around our neighborhood with Daddy. They came back with a decent little stash of candy in their pumpkin buckets...candy that they now want to eat 24/7. The celebration this year was simple, but we had a lot of fun. Can't wait for next year!

(when I collage this, for some reason the pumpkin isn't edited correctly in a few of the pics!
I don't know how to fix it.)

Those pictures just made my day. I was smiling forever. I saw them on FB and just now when I got on here, it started all over again. I was just on Pinterest and looking at the salt dough hand impressions and thinking, "I should make one of my hand to give to the twins so we can hold hands at night" and then I got really home sick and came here. What a good job you do of everything. Just simply everything. Love you so much. xoxo
