What Happened on July 2nd 1776

Because I am unable to participate in the traditional festivities of the 4th of July celebration this year, I have decided to use these next three days to take a look at WHY we celebrated this holiday. The fireworks, the food, the friends and family. All of these things are enjoyable, but this clip reminds us of what happened on July 2, 1776. Their day looked just a little bit different than ours. :)

And of course, being me, it's gotta be a musical! I love the show 1776 for many reasons, and one of them is for it's historical accuracy. No singing in this clip, but don't worry, it will come. :)
