Good-Bye 2010, Hello 2011

I should write a post about the new year. I've started several. I don't know what to say.

Our celebration this year won't amount to much. Our family is in the middle of a 12 hour flu that's going around. It picks off the members of your family one by one, and so far Liv, Charlie and now Eli have been taken hostage. Guess that means I'm next! There's something awfully foreboding about ringing in the New Year with an illness.

There are many thoughts and emotions that I could share if I had a moment to even think them through... and come up with a complete thought. I guess that's what life is like when you are caring for a family with young children. And if that is what 2011 will bring...just more of the same...I'm good with it. The Lord has blessed our family immensely this year, in a multitude of ways. My children are healthy (most of the time!), and our family is strong in our love and our faith. Eli's resolution this year involves his new gym membership, and mine is to develop and cultivate a greater level of patience. Believe me, I need it! Hopefully Charlie and Liv have resolutions too...to continuing developing into the wonderful people they are proving to be.

Let's see what 2011 brings.

Happy New Year!

they say it is good luck if it rains on your wedding day, so perhaps it is good luck if you start a new year with the stomach flu? it's worth considering, anyway.

my resolution is the same this year as it is every year - be better.

speaking of better, tell everyone in your house to GET better.

we all stand ready and prepared to face the new year. Isn't it nice to know we are loved and that we love each other?

Patience!? You, Abby? Are you kidding me? You are the very picture of patience (or at least seem to be) - Best of luck with everyone's health and resolutions and I love your post Debbie - just want to be better - I'm going to adopt that one for myself. I've had an amazing 2010 and look forward to more of the same. Love to all. xoxoxo
