We're getting rid of the pacifiers. Ahhhhhhh! We must be crazy! But Charlie and Liv turned 16 months yesterday, and after some consideration we decided it might be wise to try getting rid of the pacies now. Too much longer and it might be a tough battle.
So last night I cut the tips off their pacifiers and we put them to bed. I was prepared for at least an hour of solid screaming, but after only 10 or 15 minutes, the crying stopped. And for the next 45 minutes they chatted with each other until they fell asleep. Not too bad!
Today is a different story. No morning nap. They cried for an hour. So Mom and I got them up and we went to the zoo. We had a great time and they did so well! On the way home they fell asleep. Darn. After a 30 minute rest we arrived at home. That was around 2:00. They've now been in their cribs for an hour and a half. They're crying again. No naps. Yikes. I had a feeling that napping without the pacifiers would be harder for them than not having them at night, but this might be a long day. :(
