Charlie and Olivia's First FHE

Last night we had our first FHE (Family Home Evening) with the kids. An FHE is usually every Monday night and consists of a prayer or two, some hymns and a gospel lesson. Needless to say, we haven't really been doing this with C&O because they are only 3 months old. But yesterday my friend Liz said they started doing mini-FHEs with their daughter. So I thought, why not?!

For their first FHE, Eli said the opening prayer. We "all" sang 'Families Can Be Together Forever'. Eli cried and almost didn't make it through, and Liv smiled the biggest smile through the whole thing. Charlie looked like he couldn't figure out what the heck was going on, but he did stop crying for it. Then Eli told them about how he and I were sealed in the temple and how that means they are sealed to us. That we will always be together. And that because of that, in time, they will get to know their Grandpa too and be with him. It was a sweet moment. Thank you Liz, for sharing a wonderful thing with us without even knowing it!

Abby, what's funny is that you have no idea how you impact our lives. Thank you for saying so though. That touched my heart. I wish I could take credit, but it was Adam's idea to have FHE from the beginning. I must admit though I like having them. You never know what's going to stick when it comes to children.
