Riverside Hospital: Day 30 (Legge Family Baby Shower)

Yesterday I had my second baby shower with my Dad's side of the family. I was supposed to have one the Saturday before with Eli's side of the family, but that was cancelled for obvious reasons. But this one was wonderful. My Aunt Mary threw it for me, and she did a great job. There were some fun games, and yummy cake, and lots of great gifts for Charlie and Olivia.

The nicest part for me was that Eli was there. We did a co-ed shower so that he could be involved too. I have to say, now that I've had one, I think I might prefer these. So many important male people get left out of a regular baby shower. It was so great that I could spend this time with my husband, Dad, uncle and friends. And it was pretty funny watching them cheat off eachother as they attempted to unscramble "baby" words. Uncle Mike was quite good at that I might add. And Dad sure knows his baby animals! Who knew.

As always, getting out of my hospital room was a treat in and of itself. It made me feel halfway normal again. And the cake was pretty good too. Whipped cream icing makes all of the difference! Afterward, we packed up the gifts and Eli took them home. Who knows what I will walk into when I get home and finally have to put everything away. WHERE WILL IT GO?! Maybe we should rent one of those classy PODS to put in our driveway. How cool would we be then?!

P.S. and totally unrelated. I am a staunch advocate of "No Christmas Before Thanksgiving." But being in the hospital has made me change my tune...just for this year. "For I need a little Christmas, right this very minute. Candles in the windows, carols at the spinette!
Yes I need a little Christmas, right this very minute. I need a little Christmas NOOOOOOOOOW!"...and now I will try to restrain myself for 11 more days. I will not succumb!

I'm pretty sure my mom and I have the same inside joke. And that's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown might be a blockhead, but he did get a nice tree. :)

I've always wanted to have a co-ed baby shower. Dustin will want to be involved. He'll actually want his own baby shower, now that I think about it...
