Riverside Hospital: Day 18 (Election Day II)

I am currently watching John McCain concede the election to our new president Barak Obama. This is such a momentous moment. Olivia and Charlie will never know a time when an African American has not been President of the United States. And to think, my own parents lived through the civil rights movement. It was not long ago that African Americans could not even vote, and now they can run the country with the support of the people. That is as it should be. I am proud to be a part of a country that has finally made that possible.

Amen! I am so moved by this election. I think everyone is excited for the step forward we have made as a country, no matter who we voted for. This is a proud day.

Can I just tell you how proud I am that all of my children have responded like this...Abbott, I count you as "a children"... ;)

This day was huge, this event was huge, and what's additionally so sweet is that President Obama was elected by WHITE PEOPLE!!!! That just blows my mind. This is a great country.

And where Eli got that Irish brough from is anyone's guess...
