First Primary Program - CTR

Every year the children in each ward take over sacrament meeting. They work all year on the songs, and they each get to say a little something in relation to the theme for the year (this year the theme was CTR - Choose the Right). This was Charlie and Livy's first Primary Program, and I have waited for this day since I saw my first program 12 years ago as a brand new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. These two did NOT disappoint.

They each had one line. Olivia's was, "Our Church today is lead by a prophet." Followed immediately by Charlie, who said, "The Prophet of our Church is President Monson." I was so proud of them, because they had their lines memorized. Once they got to the podium, one of the Primary teachers fed them their lines, but they could have done it without being prompted. They worked hard, and I was proud of them for that. :)

Charlie waved at us about a million times, and Liv was her typical show-stopping self. She helped conduct for a couple songs, she got a little theatrical in her facial expressions and body movements as she sang, and she took off her sweater vest and flipped it around her head a couple times. In other words, they were perfect.

But most of all, it was so wonderful to hear what they have been learning all year. And it was wonderful to see them up there, with the other children, just being a part of the Church...of the gospel. It met and exceeded all my expectations.

I can't wait for next year. :)
