Legge Family Reunion 2012 - Springfield, OH

(our t-shirts. Cleveland, OH should have been Cleveland, TN. oops!)

In June we had our bi-annual Legge Family Reunion. This time, we returned to where our family began...Springfield, OH. As always, it was so wonderful to see all the members of my wonderful family and play catch-up. As I have grown older, my love for this group of people has grown exponentially. They are exceptional. Though we live our own lives, have our own views on matters political and religious, and enjoy different things, we all have so much fun together! And we LOVE each other...and we LIKE each other, which is even more amazing. We take joy in each others' accomplishments, and we sorrow together in our trials. But when we get together, we will always celebrate each other.

I am already looking forward to our next reunion in 2014, because I spent so much time running around after babies and children that I didn't get in as much visiting as I had hoped. Don't get me wrong. There were willing arms EVERYWHERE, and I barely held a baby. But. As is the case whenever you are not at home, schedules were screwy and nothing was where I needed it to be. So it made for a very loooooong day, and I was exhausted at the end of it. As were the children. I can not imagine what it would have been like without the help of all of my family members!

We had a talent show, which is starting to become a tradition. Kids and adults alike share their talents, and it is such a fun way to get to see what everyone's talents are. Eli, Charlie, Olivia and I decided to sing "Frank D. Fixer" by Jason Mraz. Charlie and Liv were AWESOME!

There was barely any time to take pictures myself, so what we have is courtesy of, well...everyone else. Eli and the babies didn't make it into the big family picture, and we didn't get one of our individual family because Eli was driving the babies around to get them to nap, so we missed the photo op. Next time we'll only have two 5 year olds and three 2 year olds. It should be a lot easier to round them up...right?

I am so grateful to be a part of this family. I have learned much from them, and have always felt their love in a very real and palpable way. Watching them love my children like they do fills me with joy. It is my hope that Liv, Charlie, Jack, Luke, and Wendy will one day understand just how blessed they are to be a part of this family. Till 2014!
