Baby Blessings and Big Kid Adventures

The events of the past couple days are tugging at my heart strings. Yesterday Eli blessed our three newest additions to the family at church. Surrounded by faithful priesthood holders of family and friends, he named our children and blessed them with the things Heavenly Father desires them to have in this life. Our friend Abbey made the beautiful white outfits they wore, and our family and friends filled up three pews in the chapel. As this was the babies' first time at church, they were quite popular and the members "oo"ed and "ah"ed over them. :) Our triple stroller was also quite a hit, as strollers aren't typically found inside the church building! We were, as always, a spectacle!

I was able to write down the main portions of the blessings. Heavenly Father blessed them with the following:

Jackson Eliot Bowman
* you are a special son of Heavenly Father.
*you have been sent to partake of trials, lessons and blessings of this life.
*the things in this world will work to affect you negatively, but if you are faithful and keep the commandments, you will have protection and strength.
*you have a wonderful family to serve and love you.
*you will love your family and love service.
*you will be blessed to find a mate and marry in the temple.
*you will be blessed to serve a mission.

Luke Wilson Bowman
*you will understand the importance of the gospel and being obedient.
*you are a special son of Heavenly Father.
*you have many talents that you will use to serve the Lord and the Church.
*you will be blessed to serve a mission.
*you will be blessed to find a mate and marry in the temple.
*you are blessed with an eternal family.
*your family will serve and help you.
*you will have a special love for the siblings you were born with and you will be close to them, and they will buoy you up.

Wendy Jane Bowman
*you will enjoy serving the Lord.
*you will come close to the Savior.
*you are loved by the Savior and your Heavenly Father.
*If you remain faithful, you will receive the blessings Heavenly Father desires for you.
*you will have an eternal family and be blessed to marry in the temple.
*you will teach your children the gospel, obedience, and faith.
*you have a special, sweet spirit and you will be blessed by it.

Yesterday was wonderful, but today I am sitting in a quiet house. It's just me and the babies. My MIL is on her way back to California after having served our family for five months. Eli is back at work, and Charlie and Liv are spending their first day with the baby-sitter. I miss my family. I miss my kids. It is necessary at this time for my big kiddos to be with a baby-sitter a few days a week so that all of the needs of my children can be met, but mostly I feel like someone else is doing my job. And though I know they will be fine and have a lot of fun, there's still an element of guilt. I'm grieving also for the time that both my MIL and Eli have had to spend with Charlie and Liv. Such wonderful relationships have been built, and we have all been blessed by the opportunity for them to grow closer together. There have been so many changes in our lives and our family this year, but we are finally returning to our new normal. It will just take a little getting used to.

They are getting so big already. All of them, actually. Charlie and Liv are growing kids; their personalities just radiate through every photo. And Jack, Luke (oh jeeze, that smile!) and Wendy seem to be changing every moment. I can't wait to meet them. I love you all.

Such sweet blessings. Those babies are just adorable- all 5 of them! I can just imagine all the attention those babies were getting at church! :D

Enjoy your special time with the babies- hope you get some naps. I'm sure you need them.

Hugs to you Abby!

I know the feeling. But pretty soon the triplets will be huge and the twins will be older and the whole family dynamic will change again! For now, you are doing your best!
