'Twas the Night Before Easter...

...and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a...

("Mooooooommy! Moooooooommy!)

Wait. That is definitely not a mouse.

("Daaaaaaaddy! Daaaaaaaddy!)

Um. Okay. So Charlie was stirring. What time was it? 3:30 am. But unfortunately, this was not the first time we had heard this. In fact, every 20 minutes since Charlie went to bed at 7:00, he yelled for us. Connected the dots yet? Thaaaaat's right. Charlie didn't fall asleep until 3:30 in the stinking morning! And after he finally DID fall asleep, he woke up every hour until 6:30. Not the way you want to start any day, much less Easter. We are pretty sure he was feeling nervous about sleeping in his bed. The night before he had a very high fever and started to shiver. He thought the shivers were going to make him fall out of bed! Poor guy.

Needless to day, he did not go to church the next morning. Eli was kind enough to let me take Olivia since I don't have many Sundays left before bedrest. So we dressed Livy up in her Easter dress,

opened a couple Easter baskets, and headed to church.

When we came home, it was nap time. Thank goodness for that! Charlie slept for four hours. We were all feeling a little better after the rest, so we decided to color eggs. We hadn't planned any Easter festivities of our own as we had planned to go to Tutu's that day. With Charlie being sick, I ran out Saturday night to get a few things, and my Grandparents sent over leftovers from the Easter dinner we missed with them on Saturday.

So we colored our eggs in these handy-dandy egg coloring no-spill bowls I found. LOVE them!

And enjoyed a nice little Easter dinner. Even if it was re-heated in the micro. :) I made deviled eggs for the first time to complete the meal. They tasted wonderful, but the shells just didn't peel off well. It's a good thing I was only making them for my immediate family. I would have been embarrassed to show these things to anyone else! They gave the term "deviled" a whole new meaning!

BUT. It was still Easter. And what a wonderful day it is. It is the day that changed LIFE. For me, for you, and for Him. There are no words to adequately express my gratitude for all that my Savior has done for me. I guess I'll just say, "Thanks."
