Easter 2010

Easter in pictures. A lot of pictures. :)

Dying Easter Eggs
No one looks too happy because they were ready for a nap. Oh well!

Livy figured you could eat the egg as soon as it was dyed.

Easter Morning:
We had nowhere to go! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a General Conference every six months. The Prophet, Apostles, and leaders of the church speak to the members all over the world in a televised broadcast. There are two 2 hour sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. However, this year Conference fell on Easter weekend. So we didn't have anywhere to go in our new Easter clothes. I dressed the kids up anyway and we opened Easter baskets in them. We promptly changed out of the clothes after our photo shoot because it was too warm to wear sweaters!

In their baskets they received:
Olivia: a stuffed purple chick, three eggs with Little People figures in them, "Peter Cottontail" the book that plays the song when you open it, and popsicle molds shaped like bunnies.
Charlie: a stuffed bunny, a watering can and gardening tools, "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" book, and three Little People eggs.

These next two were taken as they were trying to quickly escape down
the driveway and into the street. Um...I don't think so.

Notice how Charlie looks so happy in all of these pictures? They both refused to take a morning nap. But they really did so well that day!

In the afternoon we went over to Tutu's for Easter brunch and an egg hunt with cousins Jalen and Jaden.

Jalen and his dad JJ looking for Easter baskets.

Jalen got silly string in his Easter Basket. He had some fun with it. :)

My kids really found some eggs! How adorable!

We visited Gram for a little while before we went home for the day. As she had been sick, we hadn't made any plans. But she was feeling better, so we couldn't leave her out of our Easter celebration. After all, the most important part of Easter is our Savior's atonement which has made it possible for us to be with our families and our Heavenly Father for eternity.

After the kids went to bed, Eli and I watched the sessions of General Conference that we had recorded during the day. The talks brought home the importance of the real meaning of Easter. And though the Easter baskets and egg hunts were tons of fun, the best part of the day, for me, was hearing those messages about our Savior. It's what really matters.

I took this picture off of my friend Abbey's blog. I love it.
