A Visit with the Sleesmans :)

Earlier this month, our family had the opportunity to travel up to Holt, Michigan to visit with my best friend Leslie and her family Dustin (her husband) and Henry (her adorable little son). It was so wonderful to visit with them for an extended period of time. We see Les and Henry every month or so, but only for an hour or two. Sometimes not at all, as Leslie is a very busy and popular woman. ;)

The most fun we had was watching our children play together. Charlie and Liv were, generally speaking, very friendly with Henry. Every now and then Charlie would use Henry as a punching bag, but thankfully, Henry thought it was rather amusing and laughed and laughed about it.

Henry is the easiest baby I have ever seen. Truly. He is happy no matter what. I am fully convinced that he would just sit in the middle of the floor all day long without a toy or a person and just smile and smile. Thankfully, he doesn't have to do that, but really...he's the sweetest little guy. And his red hair just kills me. How could you not love it?!

The kiddos had their first bath together, as good friends ought to do when they are itty-bitty.

Poor Henry got a rear-end in his face many a time, but again, he thought Charlie and Liv were just the funniest people ever.

Charlie and Liv had a great time with Leslie. She has a very large collection of makeup. And she let them help her put it on!

Livy also got to brush Leslie's hair. :)

While we were there, the Sleesmans took us to Ikea. I have never been, and Eli has only been once and very briefly. I have several thoughts about Ikea. The first is that I love it! But when we were parking and walking in, I felt like I was going to a basketball game or a concert, not a store. The place is gigundonormous!! The parking lot is the size of my neighborhood! (Ok. So that's an exaggeration. Just go with it please.) And it was PACKED! Even Leslie said it was the busiest she's seen it. It was also overwhelming. On the top floor, everything is set up like a floor set. And you can buy any of it. I just didn't know where to look first. But we had such a blast and Eli and I are full of ideas for our house. Ikea, we will be paying you a visit in the near future!

Finally, Leslie, Eli and I tried to teach Dustin how to play euchre. Oh my. Dustin, you were not good man. Not good at all. BUT! You got the hang of it. Now you just have to remember everything until the next time we get to play. Oh. And you can be on someone else's team next time. ;)

Cute visit! That red hair! So cute!! Of course, we're a little fond of red heads in this house. We're going to Ikea tomorrow with mom and my MIL - it's a fun place to get lost in once in a while.
The pictures are, as always, adorable. Thanks for posting! LOVE!

Ikea! Don't you just love that place? We need one stupid thing to complete a wall in our house, and it isn't available online. Bummer...we'll have to visit a store! :)

Glad you had fun!

And Dustin, don't worry about that euchre thing, honey. It'll come to you eventually...you have your whole life to figure it out...

Dustin, I am the ONLY person in my family that doesn't play that game. . . I am still here to talk about it. . . and a little less frustrated! :)

I love the red hair! So cute! Don't you just love IKEA! My friend and I ditch our husbands and go to the one in West Chester every couple of months. The first time we went I had some major sensory overload, but now I know that IKEA is a full day trip and not in and out.

I would just like to point out how much more pale my child is compared to the twins. Holy cow. Pale and red hair?

The visit was so much fun! Can't wait for you guys to come back :-)
