Obssession and Addiction

Today Eli and I were talking about making preparations for my square foot garden that I will be planting this spring. I've been waiting for a couple years to do this, but I haven't had a place for it. So I was telling him how incredibly excited I was about it. He finally pointed out that this will be the ultimate in living out my Farmville fantasies. We were in hysterics by the end of our comparison.

Each crop has it's little square to be planted, grown and harvested. Eventually I may even have a little bar over my head that keeps track of how long it takes to plant and harvest my crops. My friend Liz might just drop by with some bags of fertilizer to fertilize my crops for me. To thank her I will likewise fertilize her crops, or I could give her some of the money I make off of them. Aunt Duck will then come over to drop off a few of the flowers she just cut from her own garden. After all, she had plenty to share. When Eli gets home from work, he will walk through the door to find 25 of his friends standing in his living room. When he inquires as to why they are there, they will simply answer, "We have some gifts for you, but would you mind sending us one in return?"

Randall and I started a square foot garden last year and it was great! We only started out with one box, but this spring we're going to build a second one for the vine and bushy plants. I like your farmville comparisons!

HAHAHAHAHAHA...excellent!!! I'll be more than happy to send over my excess lotus flowers!!! and don't get me started on my over-flowing chicken coup and black and golden chickens....I'll feed yours if you feed mine!

This is so great, but I love the idea that you're planning a sq ft garden. Peter was talking about coming out there at the end of the summer. He can make those containers with his eyes closed. If you need more at that time, he'll be more than happy to build you some more. You should know by then if it's something you wish to continue...

Moo Moo's dictionary:
Obsession: (noun) grandbabies
Addiction: (noun) grandbabies

Oh my goodness Abby. I was reading your post and laughing so hard. I can just picture how this convo went down between you and eli. I'd be happy to come and fertilize your plants, but if you find a collectable, you'll have to share. Great post! BTW love the picture of the garden in your post. I just might have to set up my garden this way.
