Halloween 2009

Well, Charlie and Liv missed their first Trick-or-Treat because Liv was sick. (Charlie woke up with a fever today by the way. I have a feeling we'll be running in circles with this illness for a while. But I digress.) Even though they couldn't go door to door, we couldn't let the holiday pass without a little celebration. So we dressed them up in their costumes, carved their little pumpkins, had pumpkin shaped snacks, and opened their goody bags from the Great Pumpkin (aka Gram). It turned out to be a pretty good little celebration. Here are a few of the pics.

Before our celebration, Eli and I went to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It. So so so so sooooooooooo good! (While we were gone, Gram dressed Charlie and Liv in her own Halloween costumes. They went as each other! Did you see that in the slide montage?) Anyway, the movie was just so great. I am a HUGE MJ fan, and it was such a neat experience to see him in action. This wasn't even the actual concert, and it was just amazing. Definitely a must see in my opinion. And I thought it was rather uplifting. It is certainly sad that he is no longer with us, but what he has left us is just awe inspiring.

Then, once the kiddos were tucked in for the night, Eli and I went to the haunted house called Terror Fest that has been open the past month...right outside our bedroom window. Eli scored free tickets because he told one of the owners where we lived. The tickets were an "I'm sorry for all the noise you've had to put up with for the past month" tickets. So we walked on over and went through the 30 minutes haunted house. It's odd how these people jump out and scare you and the response is either "AHHHHHHH!" or "Hahahahaha!" I did a lot of laughing last night. Strange.

So this Halloween was successful, even if it wasn't what I had planned. And it was a marked improvement over last year. :) Happy Halloween!

Such a great slide show! The kids are getting SO big ... Livy's hair is getting long and I can see one of Charlie's bottom teeth in one of the pics. What fun! I have passed this one along to all the rellies. Thanks!

This was adorable and hysterical. I laughed out loud at some of the timing with the music and photos. It's priceless. Lulu's hair looks so much like Eli's hair right now. Maybe it's just the photography, but does it truly resemble her dad's? Charlie's big blue eyes are just doing me in, Abs..just doing me in...

Liv's hair is totally like Eli's! It gets all "curly and weird in the back." :)
