Wednesday May 6 will be my Dad's 56th Birthday. We have planned to have a small ceremony at Worthington Presbyterian Church to finally put1/3 of his ashes to rest. (The other 2/3s are being spread over Torch Lake and the Buckeye Stadium.) My aunts and uncle will be there along with close friends. Afterwards we have a small birthday party planned. So I've been gearing up for that, not sure how it will feel.
But today has thrown another curve ball at our family. Eli came home for lunch today and checked his voicemail. There was a message from the Chaplain at Riverside Hospital. His father, Don Bowman, had a heart attack and passed away today. In a little less than five months, we have each lost our fathers...and gained two children. Charlie and Olivia will always hear about their Grandpas. Who they were...who they are...how they have blessed our lives, and how much their Grandpas loved them.

I can't believe it. Eli, your mom sent me a private message which I got when I got home from work. I called and we got to talk awhile. Some of the very best times of our lives were spent with your family. We love your dad, your mom, your entire family. Including sweet Abby, and the babies.

I am so sorry to hear about Eli's dad! what can we do? (You need only say the word and troops will be mobilized. We're good like that.)
