A Trip to Children's Hospital

Don't worry! It was not an emergency trip! It was planned...and by that I mean scheduled. Charlie had two appointments today. The first was for an ultrasound of his stomach.

With all of the spitting up he has been doing...

...his Pediatrician thought it might be wise to make sure there wasn't anything else going on. Thankfully, he has a clean bill of health. However, that means that he will be doing more of this...

...because that's what he does when he spits up. And he does it a lot. So we have decided to try soy formula until his next doctor's appointment on Thursday. So far, he is still spitting up, but seems to be less upset about it...sort of...sometimes...a little bit.

Anyway, after the ultrasound, we were off to Urology for a circumcision consultation. (No pictures here guys, sorry!) Now, what exactly is there to consult about regarding a circumcision? I'm not sure. And after having one, I am convinced that it is merely a way to get an extra co-pay out of someone. I mean really, either he has something to circumcise or he doesn't! And I could tell them that he does. But it's part of the "process", so consult we did. The only good thing that came of it is that he was weighed. After all of the spitting up, it was so comforting to know that he is still gaining weight. He weighed in (with clothes on) at 8 lbs. 14 oz.! Woohoo!

Both Charlie and Olivia were wonderful through it all. Especially Charlie who went almost 5 hours without food. Way to go babies! And a thanks for Mom for helping out. Thanks Mom!

So, now the kids are with Gram and I am busy doing laundry and writing this blog. All in all, things are going well. :) More updates to come!

P.S. Did you know that Charlie is...?

So happy to hear the clean bill of health...I knew you were worried...and during the circumcision, place a chair for the prophet Elijah...apparently there was a time when he complained that the procedure wasn't being performed correctly and he had to witness them so now they have a chair for him during the ceremonial bris...actually, it's called "The Throne of Elijah, The Prophet"....and I believe the baby is actually now circumcised on that particular chair, or rather, by being held by the person sitting on that chair...yea...I prefer the hospital also....my brother's bris was at home and I think he got an infection...no bueno...well, I've strayed from my point, which is, congratulations on a beautiful negative ultrasound...there! Love, Grandma (the other one)

Deb, i hope you know that you are so much more than "the other" grandma. You are the grandma they are gonna pee their pants with joy about while they are jumping up and down, waiting for you to arrive. :)

Nancy, I love you. I'm so grateful for you...and I know Eli is, and it's a given with Abby. Thank you for all you do and sacrifice. You're the best.
